Steve Carvajal joined the Stephens College women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2026, bringing decades of coaching experience and a championship-winning background to the Stars program.
A native of Emporia, Kansas, and a resident of Tipton, Missouri, Carvajal has coached football, baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, and track throughout his distinguished career. His teams have advanced to nine state Final Fours while capturing state championships in baseball, boys basketball, and girls basketball. Known for his ability to build successful programs and develop student-athletes, Carvajal has earned a reputation as a respected leader and mentor throughout Missouri.
Carvajal earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri Southern State University before completing a master's degree in administration from Northwest Missouri State University. He later earned an Education Specialist degree in Superintendent Leadership from William Woods University.
Carvajal joins the Stars with a passion for teaching the game, developing meaningful relationships with student-athletes, and helping the program compete for championships. He and his wife reside in Tipton, Missouri.
