St. Louis, MO - The Stephens Stars soccer team traveled to St. Louis to take on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University in the AMC Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals. Looking to avenge an earlier loss to the Hornets, the Stars played an energetic 90-minutes and battled hard. The Stars entered the match as the #7-seed in the conference tournament, while the Hornets were ranked at #2.
Anya Castelli got the Stars on the board first as she converted on a free-kick from outside the box, lobbing the ball over the Hornets goalkeeper to put Stephens up 1-0. The Hornets responded immediately to tie the score 1-1 at the end of the first half. Another early goal from the Hornets put them up 2-1 at the start of the second-half.
