Columbia, MO - In an epic David meets Goliath story, the Stars fell 10-0 to powerful 12th ranked Columbia College tonight. Things looked promising for the Stars in the first 10 minutes of play, but then a series of errors put the Stars down 3-0 at the 20-minute mark. The Cougars finished the half at 5-0. In the second half the Stars improved their possession, but the Cougars were just too powerful and overwhelmed them for another 5 goals. This is the end of the Stars season, and the Cougars will face Harris Stowe in the final on Thursday, November 10 at Columbia College at 6 pm.
"Even with this game a loss, it's still a victory for the Stephens College soccer program to have achieved so much. We had the best conference finish in history, won our first ever quarterfinal match and defeated William Woods, a team we've never won against in the history of the program. There is a lot to be proud of." offered Coach Palmbaum.
The Stars finish the conference season with a record of 4-4-2.
