Fulton, Mo. - The Stars suffered a tough season-ending loss in the AMC conference tournament semifinal against the William Woods University Owls.  The Stars fought hard, but the match ended in the favor of the Owls with a final score of 0-2. This marks the second consecutive year that the Stephens squad has reached the semifinals.

In the opening minute, the Stars had a chance with a corner kick but couldn't convert. Swiftly seizing the opportunity, the Owls scored the game's first goal.

During the latter part of the game, senior forward Kailee Wisber attempted the goal, but the ball veered wide to the left. The Stars displayed a resilient defense, successfully warding off the Owls for the majority of the period. However, in the last five minutes, the Owls found the net once more, securing their 2-0 victory over the Stars. It was a fiercely contested match, but the Owls emerged victorious in the end.

"I am impressed with the team and how far we went this season for the conference tournament. The commitment and effort these last two games were unparalleled," Head Coach Ben Stein states. "We know what we need to work on in preparation for the 2024 season and I cannot wait to get back to it. The seniors will be missed next year, but we know that they will represent our College and team well in the world."
