Columbia, Mo. - The Stars emerged victorious in their home game against William Woods University with a final score of 82-54.
The game started with a strong move from Marveen Ross, setting the tone with a 3-point basket, and energizing the Arena. Alayasia Douglas then contributed significantly by making two consecutive layups, helping the Stars secure an 11-point lead.Â
In the second quarter, the Stars continued to show dominance, maintaining their lead. Despite the Owls' efforts to turn the game around, the Stars' defense remained superior, and the first half ended with a score of 30-26.
The second half began with Chu Crockett stealing the ball and sinking a basket for the Stars. Syderah Farmer, a freshman guard, made a significant impact with two consecutive 3-pointers.Â
The Stars maintained control, and by the final quarter, they scored 10 points in just a minute. Although William Woods retaliated with some baskets, their time ended leading the Stars to victory.
The Stars return to play once more to host Cottey College on Saturday, December 16th at 1 pm.Â
