Stephens College Stars basketball squad headed down to Arkansas Wednesday afternoon for their Thursday night game against Central Baptist College, a team in their previous meeting beat by twenty three points. 

This time around, the Stars foot never went fully down on the gas pedal and allowed CBC to stay relevant for most of the game. With a really low scoring first half, 26-21, the Stars took their five point into half time and hoped to stay in front the rest of the way. 

The Lady Mustantgs came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Stars 20-15 in the third quarter. The foul trouble kept Coach Bell from keeping his starters in the game so he looked elsewhere for a spark to get the team into the game. Celeste Anton had a hot hand coming off the bench, making all three of her 3-points attempts and went 4-4 from the free throw line. Other than that, the Stars were a tad bit cold, shooting 34.7% (17-49) and had nineteen turnovers thus allowing the Mustangs to score eighteen points off of those TO's. 

The Stars ended up falling 55-54 even after a few late three pointers to try to get them back into it. The Stars will have their fifth seed finalized after this loss and will take on Williams Baptist University in their final regular season game of the year. It is also Senior Night in Silverthorne Arena so come out and support at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon!
