COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Stephens College Stars (2-10-2, 1-5 AMC) were unable to overcome a potent Columbia College attack, falling 0-6 on Tuesday evening.
The Stars' defense, anchored by goalkeeper Sofia Ramos, faced constant pressure, with Ramos making 11 saves across 90 minutes of play.
Columbia College (12-1-1, 5-0 AMC) took control early, netting four goals in the first half. The Cougars opened the scoring in the 10th minute, 26th, 30th, and 36th minutes before the half.
Despite a resilient defensive effort in the second half from the Stars, Columbia added two more goals.
Stephens generated limited offensive opportunities but saw shots from Lily Cook and Kayln Apodaca. Columbia's defense held firm, limiting the Stars to just one shot on goal throughout the match.
The Stars will look to bounce back in their final AMC Conference match of the season on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. when they take on Harris-Stowe State University on the road.
