Fulton, Mo. - The Stars Softball team showcased their dominance on the diamond today in a doubleheader against NCAA DIII Westminster College, emerging victorious in both non-conference games. The Stars take home an 8-inning win 5-4 in game one and an 11-0 shutout in game two.
In the first matchup, the Stars claimed a hard-fought 5-4 win in extra innings. Elise Kendrick's pivotal single early in the game set the stage for their lead, with Emma Wood's double extending it further. Despite a late surge from the Blue Jays, Mariah Thibodeaux's sacrifice fly in the eighth inning sealed the victory.
Pitcher Grace Tath exhibited her skill and resilience throughout the game, conceding no earned runs despite facing six hits. Her performance included three strikeouts and three walks, contributing significantly to the team's success.
In the second game, the Stars continued their dominance, securing an 11-0 shutout.
