Fayette, Mo. - In a challenging matchup on Wednesday afternoon against local softball powerhouse No. 3 ranked Central Methodist University, the Stars faced a tough defeat in a non-conference game, losing 0-9 in just five innings.  

The Eagles wasted no time, securing a commanding lead with four runs right out of the gate in the first inning. Despite efforts to rally back, highlighted by Emma Wood's single to right field, the Stars couldn't match the dominance of their NAIA-ranked opponents, ultimately falling short in the contest. 

Looking forward, the Stars are gearing up for their first conference game of the 2024 season against Harris-Stowe State University. The doubleheader is set to take place in St. Louis on Saturday, with the first pitch slated for 2 pm, followed by a second game at 4 pm. It's an opportunity for the Stars to regroup and come back stronger as they dive into conference play.
