Stars Give Back: Basketball Team Volunteers at the Food Bank

Columbia, MO – The Stephens College basketball team spent time giving back to the Columbia community by volunteering at the Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri. The team joined the effort to package food boxes for local veterans, showing their appreciation for those who have served the nation.

Players and coaches worked side by side throughout the afternoon, assembling boxes filled with essential food items. The project gave the team a chance to step away from basketball and focus on serving others, all while strengthening their bond off the court.

"Our team truly enjoyed spending the day at the Food Bank. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and support our community. As I often say, servant leadership is a value we hold dearly. Whenever we can give back to our community and honor our veterans, it is truly a win-win," said Head Coach Bell.

The volunteer experience reflected the program's ongoing commitment to community engagement and character development. For the Stars, it was a meaningful opportunity to honor veterans while living out the values of teamwork, service, and leadership that define the Stephens athletics experience.
