AMC Quarterfinals: Stars 3, Hornets 0
Stephens opened the AMC Volleyball Conference Tournament with a convincing sweep over Harris-Stowe, winning 25–14, 25–19, 25–20 to move to 25–12 overall on the season. The Stars controlled the match from the opening serve, using clean execution, consistent serving, and steady defensive play to stay comfortably in front throughout the afternoon.
Stephens' offense clicked early as the team hit .414 in the first set, creating separation quickly and forcing the Hornets into difficult swings. Amari Branch-Autman led the way with 11 kills on .474 hitting, while Michalina Oles and Lena Hunziker added nine kills each. Fernanda Izar was efficient in the middle, putting down six kills on .556 hitting.
The Stars' block and back-row defense were just as impactful. Stephens totaled 10 team blocks, including five from Branch-Autman and three from Izar, making it difficult for Harris-Stowe to find clean looks at the net. Jatnna Peña-Perez anchored the defense with 18 digs, and setter Emma Whitson tallied 33 assists alongside nine digs. With the sweep, Stephens advanced to the semifinals with confidence and momentum.
AMC Semifinals: Stars 3, Pioneers 1
In the semifinal round, Stephens delivered another strong performance, defeating Crowley's Ridge 25–13, 21–25, 25–18, 27–25 to punch its ticket to the AMC Championship match. The Stars withstood long rallies, big momentum swings, and a determined Pioneers team to secure the win.
Stephens dominated the opening set with balanced scoring and tough serving, but Crowley's Ridge responded in the second frame, capitalizing on extended rallies and improved serve receive to even the match at one set apiece. The Stars regrouped in the third, using increased pressure at the net and timely kills to regain control.
The fourth set showcased some of the best volleyball of the night. With 14 ties and five lead changes, both teams refused to give an inch. Stephens relied on late-set composure, cleaner swings, and clutch plays at the net to edge out a tight 27–25 win and close the match.
Lena Hunziker delivered a standout performance with 13 kills, two aces, and nine digs. Michalina Oles added 12 kills and five blocks, while Branch-Autman contributed seven kills and three aces. Izar added three more kills and four block assists to help control the middle. Whitson once again steered the offense with 33 assists and added 10 digs, while Peña-Perez posted another strong outing with 15 digs.
Stephens' total of 12 team blocks and eight service aces played a crucial role in slowing the Pioneers' rhythm and securing key points late in sets.
With back-to-back wins on Friday, the Stars advance to the AMC Championship against Columbia College on Saturday, November 15th at 12:00pm.
