Cookville, TN - Stephens College fell 92–53 to Tennessee Tech on Friday afternoon at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. The Stars led after the opening quarter before the Golden Eagles pulled away over the final three periods.
Stephens came out with strong energy and built a 20–12 advantage at the end of the first quarter, using active defense and balanced scoring to set the early tone. The Stars capitalized on turnovers and found success in transition during the opening stretch. Tennessee Tech responded in the second quarter, outscoring Stephens 25–7 to take control heading into halftime.
The Golden Eagles extended the lead in the second half behind efficient shooting and fast-break opportunities. Stephens continued to compete throughout the final two quarters, generating scoring from the bench and working for second-chance opportunities in the paint.
The Stars finished with 24 bench points and showed consistent effort on the glass. Stephens will turn its focus to the next nonconference matchup as the season continues.
