Hannibal, MO - Stephens women's basketball delivered a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, defeating Hannibal-LaGrange 84–31 at Mabee Sports Complex. The Stars controlled the game from start to finish, using balanced scoring and consistent defensive pressure to secure the home win.
After a brief early deficit, Stephens responded with a strong first quarter and carried a 21–13 lead into the second. The Stars continued to build momentum before halftime, outscoring the Trojans 23–8 in the second quarter to take a 44–21 advantage at the break. Stephens shot efficiently and forced turnovers that led to steady scoring opportunities.
The Stars maintained their intensity in the second half, holding Hannibal-LaGrange to just six points in the third quarter while extending the lead to 65–27. Stephens closed the game with a 19–4 fourth quarter, pushing the margin to its largest point in the final minute.
LaiJanique Perry-Ellis led all scorers with 17 points, adding five steals and five assists. Simone Clay finished with 15 points on five three-pointers, while Quimari Shelton contributed 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
