Stars Win on Senior Night

Columbia, MO - Stephens celebrated Senior Night in style Monday evening, delivering a dominant 82-59 victory over Central Baptist (AR) in front of a home crowd.

Before tipoff, the Stars honored their seniors for their dedication and contributions to the program, and that emotion carried onto the floor. Stephens came out energized, matching Central Baptist early in a competitive first quarter before beginning to settle in offensively.

In the second quarter, the Stars started to build momentum. Anslee Ballew and Addison Hudspeth knocked down key shots, while Aliya Grotjohn orchestrated the offense and controlled the pace. Stephens tightened up defensively, forcing tough looks and turning stops into transition opportunities to take a lead into halftime.

The game broke open in the third quarter. Fueled by defensive pressure and unselfish ball movement, Stephens put together its strongest stretch of the night. Riley Whittington and Lexi Duck attacked the rim aggressively, and Kristyn Galloway provided a spark from beyond the arc. The Stars' energy on the glass and in transition pushed the margin to double digits.

With the outcome in hand, Stephens continued to execute in the fourth, extending the lead to as many as 23. The balanced scoring effort and defensive intensity capped off a complete team performance.

On a night dedicated to honoring its seniors, Stephens delivered a performance worthy of the occasion — an 82-59 win that made Senior Night one to remember.
