Game One: Stars 0, Blue Jays 2
Stephens College dropped a 2-0 decision to Westminster (Mo.) on April 7 in Fulton, with limited offensive production proving to be the difference.
Stephens was held to just two hits on the day, coming from Addison Flores and Elise Kendrick. The Stars had a chance to build momentum in the sixth inning when Flores and Kendrick recorded back-to-back singles, but the rally was cut short before any runs could cross.
Westminster broke the scoreless tie in the third inning with a solo home run, then added an insurance run in the fifth. That second run came across following a series of baserunners and an RBI single, taking advantage of a defensive miscue.
Leanna Mitts took the loss in the circle, allowing two runs—only one earned—over 4.1 innings while keeping the game within reach. Katie Dennis provided solid relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings and allowing no hits.
Defensively, Stephens recorded 12 flyouts and worked out of multiple situations, but struggled to generate consistent offense against Westminster's pitching.
Game Two: Stars 3, Blue Jays 4
Stephens College battled back late but came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Westminster (Mo.) in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Westminster responded with a run in the second before tying the game in the fourth. The Blue Jays later took the lead, but Stephens answered in the seventh inning to briefly move back in front. Celeste Athon doubled to put a runner in scoring position, and Vince delivered again with an RBI double to give Stephens a 3-2 edge heading into the bottom half of the inning.
The hosts answered in the bottom of the seventh, tying the game on an RBI double before bringing home the winning run later in the inning to secure the walk-off victory.
Stephens finished with eight hits in the contest, led by Vince and Kendrick with two hits each. Schmidt added an RBI at the plate while also tossing a complete game in the circle, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out three.
Despite the loss, the Stars showed consistent offensive production throughout the game and put themselves in position late, highlighted by timely hitting in both the first and seventh innings.
