Alec Rathje

Alec Rathje has officially accepted the position as the Stephens College assistant soccer coach in August 2024. 

"I look forward to the opportunity to work with Coach Stein, helping a group of driven and intelligent players to pursue their academic and athletic dreams, and being able to contribute to the progress of Stephens Soccer and athletics in general," Rathje stated.  

Rathje began his coaching career as a student assistant at Wayne State College in 2019, where he helped lead the team to the NSIC Conference Tournament for the first time in 13 years. In 2022, while serving as a graduate assistant at Tusculum University, he assisted the women's soccer program in reaching the SAC Conference Tournament for the first time in four years. 

In the fall of 2023, Rathje was an assistant coach at the University of Indianapolis.  

"Alec's commitment to excellence and his proven track record at the NCAA level make him a fantastic addition to our coaching staff," said Head Coach Ben Stein. "His experience and passion for the game will undoubtedly help our program continue to grow and succeed." 

Rathje holds a bachelor of science in sports management from Wayne State College and a master's in sports management from Tusculum University
