Emily Kingsolver enters her fourth season as the Stephens head softball coach in 2022-23.
During her first season in 2019, Stephens broke three individual program records, both on single-game and season levels, while adding player names an additional 15 times. Two of the three program records were also new highs in the AMC and NAIA. Stars student-athletes added their names a total of 10 times to the career records section. Stephens broke two single-game team records. The Stars earned their first victory over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), the 2018 AMC Champion and World Series participant, in program history. Stephens recorded its first-ever doubleheader sweep in AMC play with two shutouts following wins over Harris-Stowe State (Mo.). Stephens concluded its season splitting the final three doubleheaders, winning five of eight overall and five of its final seven home games. Two players were named second team All-AMC. Off the field, five Stars earned Academic All-AMC recognition, and one player was tabbed a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
Before coming to Stephens, Kingsolver spent eight seasons leading the Marquette (Iowa) High School softball program. She guided the team to four conference championships and three state placements.
Kingsolver was a volunteer assistant at Clarke (Iowa) in 2018 and Dubuque (Iowa) in 2017.
Kingsolver was the pitching coach at MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) for three seasons (2014-16) and interim head coach for the final three games in 2016. In 2015, the Pioneers finished third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). In 2014, she helped lead the Pioneers to a second-place finish in the Heart regular season and tournament and appearance in the NAIA National Championship opening round.
Kingsolver was a pitcher for four seasons (2010-13) at Dubuque. Upon graduation, she held the single season and career records for wins for the Spartans. She also ranks in the Top 10 of single season and career records for ERA, strikeouts and shutouts.
Kingsolver earned a Bachelor of Arts in wellness, exercise and sport: exercise science from Dubuque in 2013 and a Master of Science in science management from MidAmerica Nazarene in 2015.
A native of Bellevue, Iowa, Kingsolver attended Marquette High School. She is married to Steven Kingsolver and the couple resides in Columbia with their two kids.
