Columbia, MO - The Stephens Stars played host to the Ambassadors of Ozark Christian College on Friday night in another non-conference contest. Looking to continue their winning ways, the Stars were able to sweep the Ambassadors, tying the Stars' win record from last season.
Set one saw the Stars jump out to a 10-3 lead before a OCC timeout halted Stephens momentum. A three-point run from the Ambassadors brought them to 6-10, but that would be as close as they would get as the Stars took the first set 25-14. Set two was much like the first as the Stars took an early 15-7 lead. A service run from
Megan Reese pushed the Stars' lead as they were able to close out the second set 25-13. The Stars struggled early on in set three as OCC took an 8-3 lead. A back-and-forth battle saw multiple score ties until the Stars pushed their lead to 23-19. A kill by
Mallory Polk followed by an error from OCC gave the Stars the third and final set, 25-21.
