Columbia, MO - The Stephens Stars took on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University on Tuesday. In a battle of some of the AMC's best, the Stars took an early lead at the 11' minute mark after
Kaya Cocanougher took a shot from the 30-yard-line and found the back of the net. More offensive pressure from the Stars saw
Devin Dowell score at the 44' minute mark to push the lead to 2-0 going into the half.
Out of the half, the Hornets offense came alive as they netted their first goal at the 50' minute mark; followed by two more at the 55' and 56' minute marks. One more goal from the Hornets at the 61st minute mark put their lead at 4-2 over the Stars. From there, it was a defensive battle from Stephens as they were unable to find any shots on goal in the second half.
