St. Louis, MO - The Stephens volleyball team traveled to St. Louis to take on the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University in AMC play. The Hornets took a quick 2-1 lead over the Stars, but it was short lived as reigning AMC Defender of the Week
Mya Middleton served nine aces to open the Stars' lead to 15-2, forcing a Hornets time out. Out of the timeout, four kills from
Isabelle Benson combined with errors from the Hornets gave Stephens the first set win 25-5. The second set saw the Stars jump out to another lead at 12-7, and then again at 19-12. A Harris-Stowe timeout tried to slow the offensive efforts from Stephens, but it would prove not enough as the Stars extended their lead to 24-13 before a kill from
McKenzi Domescik-Rink closed out the second set win, 25-13. The third set saw both teams trade points early on to a 7-6 Stars lead, but an 11-point serving run from Benson pushed the Stars' lead to 18-6. More errors from the Hornets gave Stephens the third and final set, 25-9.
