Fulton, MO - The Stephens Stars was back in action last night as they traveled to AMC foe William Woods University to take on the Owls in their first conference contest of the season. At the end of the third quarter, the Owls held a slim 38-36 lead over the Stars.
The Stars' defense came alive in the fourth quarter with five steals to help put the momentum back with Stephens. Both teams traded baskets to a 44-44 tie where a turnover from the Owls was converted by
Alexis Scott-Windham to push the Stars ahead by two-points. The Stars extended their lead to four after
Cedreanna Lee stole the ball and finished on the fast-break. With time expiring, a good jumper from the Owls closed the deficit, but it was not enough as the Stars took the win over the Owls 52-48.
