Columbia, MO - The Stephens Stars hosted the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University in an AMC contest inside the Silverthorne Arena. Both teams came out fast in the first quarter, exchanging baskets to a 17-15 Stephens lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Stars and Spartans played level throughout the second quarter as both teams scored 17 points each, respectively, to a narrow two-point Stephens lead 34-32 at halftime.
Missouri Baptist shot 64% from the field in the third quarter and held Stephens to just nine points, to take a 51-43 lead heading into the fourth.
The Stars, dealing with foul trouble, fought hard in the fourth and had contributions from six different players. It would not be enough though as the Spartans held on to take the win, 65-56.
