Columbia, Mo. - The Stars emerged victorious Thursday evening with a final score of 80-74 as they hosted the Bible Baptist College Patriots. 

Chu Crockett recorded her third double-double of the season securing 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Aushara Hostetler set the tone for the game with an impressive three-pointer from the assist by Mia Morel, instantly putting the Stars on the scoreboard and energizing the crowd. 

The Patriots battled early and established a small lead, but Crockett was able to bring the Stars back tying the game at 11 with an athletic layup. The stubborn Patriots continued to make big shots and attack the basket throughout the second quarter and were able to take a narrow lead into the locker room at halftime. 

Stephens began the second half with noticeable energy which immediately put pressure on the Patriots.  Alayasia Douglas began the half with a steal on the first possession and brought it downcourt for an easy bucket in the paint.  The second-half energy built a bit of separation for the Stars, but each time Stephens began to break away, the speedy guards from Bible Baptist were able to attack the basket and bring their team back. 

Morel's accuracy at the free-throw line provided a late momentum swing in favor of the Stars. Hostelers' impressive 3-pointer extended the lead to 10 points. Great team effort and control down the stretch ensured the victory for Stephens.  

The Stars play this Saturday, November 11 at 2 pm on the road in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in an exhibition game against Southeast Missouri State University.
