Columbia, Mo - In a thrilling cross-town showdown between nationally ranked (RV) teams, the Stephens Stars clashed with Columbia College in a capacity-filled Silverthorne Arena this afternoon, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. Â
From the first quarter's tip-off, the Stars showcased their mettle, responding to an early jump ball win by the Cougars with a remarkable 3-point jumper from
Zaraya March. The arena buzzed with energy as the Stars, buoyed by an enthusiastic crowd, established a 7-point lead by the end of the first quarter, displaying a perfect blend of offensive prowess and defensive resilience.
The second quarter witnessed the relentless back-and-forth action, highlighted by
Aushara Hostetler's impactful 3-pointer. The teams exchanged baskets, keeping spectators captivated and amplifying the competitive spirit.  The Stars' second-quarter offensive dominance allowed them to take a commanding double-digit lead into the locker room at the half.
The second half brought an increase in intensity from both squads, with Stephens deftly countering the Cougars' moves to retain their lead.

As the clock ticked down, both teams fought fiercely, but it was the Stars who emerged victorious with a final score of 77-66, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The win marks the second program win in two consecutive years for Stephen's College Basketball. Â The Stars will return to Silverthorne Arena for another AMC match-up against William Woods University on December 13th at 5:30 pm.
