Tuesday night's PINK OUT game was a huge success! Coach Bell and all of Stephens College thanks you for coming to Silverthorne to support the team and raise awareness for breast cancer.Â
In the first match up of the season against the University of Health Science and Pharmacy, Stephens limited their offense and shut down the potential player of the year. The game plan heading into Tuesday night remained the same. Pace, anticipation, and execution. Within the first half of play, we saw eight lead changes while constantly going back and forth. Both teams were evenly matched and no team had more than a three point lead at any time. The wealth was shared by the Stars with seven players getting on the score sheet by half time, while only two players scored for UHSP in the first quarter and four total by half time.Â
In the second half, the Stars found themselves in foul trouble allowing  UHSP to live at the line. They were perfect from the stripe, going 24/24. Stephens was outscored 41-21 in the second half, with Marveen Ross fouling out and most of the team had four fouls with half of the fourth quarter to go. The Stars will put this one behind them quickly, as they have their rematch against Missouri Baptist University on Thursday. In their first match up, the Stars fell in overtime and are looking for their redemption.Â
