Central Baptist College came into town Thursday morning to play our neighboring rival, Columbia College. Now, it was the Stars turn to take a whack at CBC's Softball squad.Â
Grace Tath was our game one starter, after pitching in two games the day prior, she was ready to go once again. Despite giving up five runs on twelve hits, this was a very impressive outing for Tath as she kept CBC to two runs until the ninth inning. The Stars offense wasn't as potent the day before, but they were in the game until the very end.
Elise Kendrick tried to get the rally started in the bottom of the last inning, as she hit a solo shot over the left field wall, leaving the Stars only down two. They unfortunately lost, 5-3.Â
In game two,
Elise Kendrick was our starter. The Stars hit a bump in the road early with nine of the Mustangs runs coming in the first two innings of play. From then on, it was fairly quiet from both squads with only one hit and one walk given out by the Mustang pitcher. The Stars fell here, 9-0.Â
The Stars have their makeup game against Hannibal-LaGrange this week in hopes of continuing their climb in the AMC standings.Â
