Columbia, Mo. - The Stars lose 3-2 in a close match against conference match up, Central Baptist College. In today's match, at Battle High School, both teams came together to raise awareness for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. 


From the beginning both teams set out with the determination to win. The Mustangs scored the first goal of the game at the 10-minute mark. After several shots on goal from both teams, the Stars gave up another goal making the score 2-0 at the half. 

During the second half, Senior Lois Landreth scored the first goal of the game for the Lady Stars assisted by Olivia Wheeler.


Following the 52-minute mark, a yellow card was issued to the Mustangs which lead to a penalty kick for Stephens. Amanda Coppeti took the shot that sailed past the goalie for the Stars second goal of the game (Coppeti's first of the season). 


The teams battled it out for the remainder of the second half. The Stars were unable to hold off the Mustangs, as the Mustangs forwards scored the go-ahead goal. The final score of today's game was 3-2. 


The Stars return to Battle High School on Saturday, October 7th, at 4pm. Saturday's game will include a ceremony honoring Seniors for Senior Night. The Stars will take on an AMC match up, UHSP Eutectics.
