Columbia, Mo. - The Stars went head-to-head with Central Baptist College in a compelling AMC showdown dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness, clinching a remarkable 88-55 triumph. Not only did the team showcase their prowess on the court, but they also rallied together to raise $400 in support of the ongoing battle against cancer.
The game commenced with a stellar basket by Chu Crockett, met with a swift response from Central Baptist.
Mia Morel and
Aushara Hostetler's back-to-back 3-pointers ignited the crowd's spirit, setting the tone for an impactful match. The Stars were hot from the three-point line with Morel finishing the game 4 for 7 and Hostetler 3 for 11 with 21 total points from downtown from the pair.Â
Despite the Mustangs' attempts to narrow the gap with their three-pointer, the Stars maintained a dominant offensive performance, leading by a substantial 28 points at halftime.Â
The second half unfolded with
Alayasia Douglas's impressive layup, culminating in a buzzer-beater by Crockett and a crucial foul from the Mustangs, further extending the Stars' lead.
