Stars Surpass 100 Points in AMC Road Victory

Hannibal, Mo. - The Stephen's Stars Women's Basketball team demonstrated their dominance in an electrifying match against Hannibal-LaGrange University Trojans, clinching a resounding double-digit 110-53 victory.

From the onset, the Stars seized control, establishing a commanding nine-point lead before the Trojans found their footing. Zaraya March's exceptional performance, highlighted by three consecutive baskets, was instrumental in propelling the Stars ahead early. The first quarter culminated with the Stars' defense forcing a shot clock violation, showcasing their defensive prowess.
Maintaining their momentum, the Stars extended their lead to an impressive 35 points by halftime, thwarting any attempt by the Trojans to narrow the gap.
In the second half, Savanna "Chu" Crockett's layup not only bolstered the team's score but also marked a significant personal milestone, surpassing 1,200 career points. Alayasia Douglas exhibited her defensive prowess with six steals, several of which led to crucial baskets.
Celeste Athon's successful 3-pointer propelled the Stars into triple digits for the first time this season, igniting the crowd with excitement.
With an outstanding 59 points contributed by the bench players, the Stars showcased their depth and skill, capitalizing on 49 points generated from the Trojans' turnovers.
The team eagerly anticipates their next challenge as they face Harris-Stowe State University on Saturday, January 27th, at 1 pm in Silverthorne Arena.
