Bolivar, Mo. - Stars Softball faced off against NCAA DII Southwest in a non-conference series, which was condensed into a single day due to weather conditions. Unfortunately for the Stars, the day did not go as planned, with losses of 0-4 and 3-17 in the two games.
The Stars' season record now stands at 4-13, while the Southwest Baptist Bearcats improved to 10-10.
In the first game, the Bearcats took an early lead, scoring in the first inning and maintaining their advantage throughout the game. Despite the Stars' efforts, including a promising moment with the bases loaded, they could not break through, resulting in a 0-4 defeat.
The second game saw, Southwest Baptist continuing its dominance, seizing the lead early on. The Stars managed to score three runs, including a home run by Elise Kendrick, but it was not enough to overcome the opponent's lead. The game ended prematurely due to the run rule, with the Bearcats securing a 3-17 victory.
The Stars look to bounce back as they head to Fulton, Mo. for a matchup against Westminster College on Sunday, Mar. 10th, with the first pitch scheduled for 2 pm.
