Columbia, Mo. - In a doubleheader against William Woods University, Stephens College faced a tough outing. The first game ended in a disappointing 0-7 loss for the Stars after an unfortunate ruling led to a forfeit in favor of the Owls.
However, the Stars showed resilience in the second game, with Gillian Hale's double bringing in a run in the bottom of the first inning. Despite their early lead, the Owls fought back, tying the game in the third inning and then taking the lead in the sixth inning with a well-capitalized opportunity on a wild pitch. Unfortunately, the Stars couldn't mount a comeback in the seventh inning, resulting in a 1-2 loss.
With these results, Stephens College now holds a 14-22 overall record (7-5 AMC), while William Woods University improved to 13-21 overall (4-6 AMC).
Looking forward, Stephens College is gearing up to face William Baptist College in Arkansas on Friday, April 12th. The first game is set to begin at 2 pm, followed by the second game at 4 pm.
