Stars Win 8-0 Over Central Baptist

Columbia, MO - Stephens College women's soccer put together a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to an 8–0 win over Central Baptist College at home in Columbia, Missouri. The victory moved the Stars to 4–8–1 overall and 1–1 in conference play, marking their most commanding offensive effort of the season.

Stephens controlled the match from the opening whistle, piling up 21 first-half shots and four goals before halftime. Charlie Keefe got the scoring started in the 10th minute and added another just five minutes later, giving the Stars an early 2–0 advantage. Kayln Apodaca followed with a goal of her own in the 19th minute off an assist from Kylee Kratzer, and freshman Ava Leininger capped the half with a goal in the 22nd minute to make it 4–0.

The Stars continued their relentless attack in the second half, adding four more goals to seal the shutout. Moriah Carnahan scored in the 46th minute on a setup from Jaleic Wilson, and Felice Schreuder found the back of the net five minutes later with an assist from Josey Uhrig. Leininger added two more goals in the 53rd and 55th minutes, both assisted by Lourdes Rocha Dias, completing her first career hat trick and leading the team with three goals on the day.

Apodaca finished with a goal and two assists, while Keefe scored twice and Uhrig tallied two assists. In total, eight different players contributed either a goal or an assist, showcasing Stephens' depth and attacking balance.

Goalkeeper Petra Brncova earned the clean sheet, not facing a single shot as the Stars outshot Central Baptist 30–0 and held an 8–0 edge in corner kicks. The back line, led by Lily Cook and Addie Butler, helped Stephens maintain complete defensive control throughout the match.
