Columbia, MO. – Stephens College women's soccer showed strong defensive organization and effort in a 2-0 road loss at Columbia College on Monday night.
Goalkeeper Petra Brncova was active throughout the match, collecting 12 saves as the Stars held the Cougars to one goal in each half. Stephens' back line, led by Addie Butler, Carsyn Osborn, and Felice Schreuder, limited dangerous opportunities and disrupted Columbia's attack despite facing 29 total shots.
On the offensive end, Butler, Schreuder, and Jaleic Wilson each put a shot on target, while the Stars earned four corner kicks and generated chances late in the match. Stephens stayed composed under pressure, maintaining possession spells and keeping the game within reach until the closing minutes.
With the result, Stephens moves to 4-9-1 overall and 1-2 in AMC play. The Stars will look to build on Monday's performance when they return home to face Harris-Stowe University on Tuesday, October 21st at 7:00pm.
