Campbellsville, KY - Stephens College women's basketball wrapped up its road trip Saturday afternoon with a 92-63 loss to undefeated Campbellsville University inside the Powell Athletic Center.
LaiJanique Perry-Ellis led the Stars with a strong all-around effort, scoring a team-high 18 points while adding five rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Marilyn Mastro came off the bench to record 10 points, including a pair of threes, and Quimari Shelton provided a spark with eight points and four rebounds in just nine minutes of play.
The Stars trailed 27-10 after the first quarter but battled to keep pace through the middle periods, scoring 19 points in both the second and third quarters. Stephens' bench made a significant impact, combining for 40 of the team's 63 total points.
Stephens shot 32 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the free-throw line while forcing nine steals on defense.
The Stars (1-4) will look to regroup as they continue nonconference play next week.
