Columbia, MO - Stephens put together a complete effort at Silverthorne Arena on Wednesday night, earning a 66–47 win over Hannibal-LaGrange to even its conference record at 1–1. The Stars set the pace from the opening tip, starting the game on a 12–0 run and closing the first quarter with a 29–11 advantage. Their early energy on defense set the tone, as Stephens forced turnovers, limited second chances, and turned stops into efficient scoring opportunities. The Stars maintained their rhythm through halftime and never allowed the Trojans to threaten the lead.
Quimari Shelton provided a major lift off the bench with 13 points, five rebounds, and two blocks, giving Stephens strong production in the paint. Simone Clay added 12 points and knocked down four threes, while Sydney Reddin and Taylor Teeple each contributed nine points. Teeple also grabbed six rebounds and recorded two blocks, and Alonna Harvey-Williams controlled the offense with nine assists. Stephens finished with 15 assists on 25 field goals and capitalized on 24 Trojan turnovers, converting them into 22 points.
The Stars also saw balanced contributions throughout the rotation, with nine different players scoring and the bench accounting for 33 points.
