Fulton, MO. – The Stephens College soccer team created opportunities throughout the match but was unable to find the back of the net in a 7-0 loss to William Woods on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls built an early lead with three goals in the opening 33 minutes and added four more in the second half to secure the result.
Despite the scoreline, Stephens stayed aggressive in the attack, recording 18 total shots with seven on goal. Forward Moriah Carnahan led the way with 11 attempts, including six on target, while Eastin Colyer and Ava Leininger each added looks that tested the William Woods defense.
Goalkeeper Petra Brncova stayed busy in net, collecting seven saves across 90 minutes. The Stars also earned four corner kicks and matched the Owls in fouls, showing persistence and competitiveness throughout the contest.
The Stars will regroup and continue non-conference play before on Wednesday, September 3rd in Leavenworth, KS against the University of Saint Mary. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
