Columbia, MO – Stephens College soccer suffered a 4-0 setback against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday, moving the Stars to 2-2-2 on the season.
Stephens came out aggressive in the opening minutes, generating several early opportunities. Eastin Colyer recorded the Stars' lone shot on goal just over two minutes into the match, while Stephens earned six corner kicks within the first 13 minutes.
Science and Arts broke through in the 16th minute to take a 1-0 advantage before adding another goal in the 24th minute. The Stars continued to search for an answer before halftime, with Carsyn Osborn and Lourdes Rocha Dias each recording shots. Charlie Keefe came close to cutting into the deficit in the 36th minute, but her attempt struck the crossbar, sending Stephens into halftime trailing 2-0.
The Drovers increased their advantage in the 65th minute and added their final goal in the 82nd to secure the 4-0 result.
Goalkeeper Petra Brncova played all 90 minutes in goal for Stephens and recorded 12 saves. The Stars finished with four shots, including one on goal, while earning seven corner kicks in the match.
Stephens moved to 2-2-2 overall with the loss.
